WHS Committees
The functions of an WHS comittee are to moniter and review the measures taken to ensure the health, saftey and security of any person coming onto the organisation's premises and to investigate any matter that may be a risk to the health and saftey.
The WHS committee should meet to discuss and review WHS issues on a regualr basis, but most particularly when:
- Risks to health and saftey arisen from work are assessed or reviewed
- Decisions are made about risk elimination and control
- Introducing or changing the procedures for monitoring risks
- Encourages the development of a body of enterprize

WHS Duty Holders
In most cases an organisation will also appoint, or elect, WHS duty holders who are responible for looking after the health, safety and welfare of a designated area or groug of workers within the organisation. The way in which a WHS duty holders can monitor the measures being taken to ensure the health, safety and welfare in their group can include:
- Conducting inspections of their work group to ensure procedures are being followed correctly
- Providing feedback to the WHS commitee about the ongoing development of managing workers safety
- Providing feedback and being consulted about emergency procedures
